Good Luck Kyle

Ohio Rural Water is proud to salute and thank one of our own, Source Water Protection Specialist Kyle Bohland.

Kyle is leaving ORWA as he was accepted on his first try to the very exclusive College of Veterinary Medicine Program at The Ohio State University.

While Kyle is not really replaceable and his talents and attitude are a big loss for all of us, we wish him only the best on his professional quest to become a veterinarian.

Kyle started with ORWA in 2009 and over these five years, his impact has been tremendous. His expertise in natural resources and economics served rural Ohio well.

One of Kyle's greatest accomplishments is the development of a mathematical rubric that quantifies the benefits that ORWA brings to systems and residents of the Buckeye State.

This work on our "Quality of Life" reports has resulted in other state chapters benchmarking and copying his rubric.

Kyle has helped so many folks in Ohio; so if you want, please feel free to send Kyle a message of thanks and good luck with his new career endeavor!

Ohio Rural Water Launches New Training Facility

The renovations and expansions are done at the Ohio Rural Water Association’s offices on Whites Road in Zanesville.  In fact, ORWA held its first ever training class at the new facility on February 28th, 2013.  This momentous occasion included a free EPA (Environmental protection Agency) continuing education credit class for 25 water and waste water operators.  The session was led by Mr. Barry Walter of Hydro Designs, who discussed the importance of cross connections and the dangers of backflow.

ORWA offers web based CCR delivery!

On January 3rd the EPA released a guidance memo that allows for the use of "electronic methods" to meet the requirement to " mail or otherwise directly deliver" your annual CCR report.

Ohio Rural Water formats dozens of CCR's a year in order to help small community water systems comply with their reporting requirements. We will continue to offer this assistance but will now also host systems CCR on the Internet with a direct URL link as required by the EPA . If your system provides a notice of the link to their customers , you will no longer be required to mail the CCR!!

How much time and money will that save your system?

By sending the Association a PDF version of your CCR report to :

This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it We will post your report by creating your own Direct URL Link as required by the EPA and send you an invoice it is as simple as that!

This is a no hassle way to save your system real money and time. Just call the Association office and for $50 per year for members and $100 per year for non members you can relax knowing you have mailed your last CCR report!
